Concrete tiles are very robust and resistant to damage from a wide variety of sources. As a result, they have quickly become one of the most common roofing materials on the market despite their relatively recent introduction.

They are arguably more suitable for modern homes than slate as they come in a huge variety of colours and designs, offering significantly more control over the final look of your home.

Additionally, concrete tiles are cheaper than more premium slate. As a result, maintenance is very affordable, as any broken or cracked tiles can simply be removed from the roof and replaced with a fresh one which will be perfectly uniform.

Concrete tiles will still stand the test of time despite being cheaper than slate. You can expect this technique to last at least 50 years with little to no maintenance.

At Primrose, we offer both new and reclaimed tiles. For new slate, we tend to work with both Spanish and Welsh tiles which come in different styles and at different price points in order to accommodate your requirements and budget.

We also offer reclaimed tiles sourced here in Scotland. This is all quality Ballachulish slate, and we can even provide a ‘matching’ service whereby we will take slate from your current roof and find a like-for-like replacement.

This helps to make sure that the roof remains consistent in cases where we are only replacing some tiles, or also reusing tiles already on the roof.

Slate tiling will allow water to slide straight off your roof and can last anywhere up to a century and often even longer.
